Program Details:

• Guaranteed paid teaching placement prior to departure

• Salary
  * Salaries in Taiwan may range from $1000 to $2000 US per month, and salaries in China may range from $400 to $800, while salaries in Costa Rica may range from $600 to $900 for full time commitments, which range between 25 to 40 hours per week.

• Housing Arrangements
  * The language agencies we partner with will sometimes cover housing expenses for their English instructors, but in all cases WISE Abroad's Country Director will assist you with finding clean, comfortable and affordable accommodations. Should your accommodations not be arranged upon arrival, WISE Abroad will pre-arrange temporary housing for you at your own expense. Your teaching salary should be enough to cover your housing and other living expenses in Costa Rica, China, and Taiwan.

• Airport pick-up and transfer
  * WISE Abroad's Country Director will pick you up in Taipei, Beijing or San Jose.  Placements may be offered in Taipei, or other cities or towns in Taiwan, and placements in China will be in Beijing, while the placements in Costa Rica will most likely be in San Jose.

• Visa Assistance
  * WISE Abroad and our partners in Taiwan, China or Costa Rica will assist you in obtaining your visa to work and live abroad although visa issuances depend on the country's government policies and laws.  We will do everything possible to assist with the visa process.

• Emergency Medical Insurance/Teacher ID Card
  * Some of our partners provide health insurance during your stay in Costa Rica, China,and Taiwan.  However, WISE Abroad will assist you with obtaining affordable basic accident and sickness insurance for international travel, as well as travel discounts. (Please see Health Insurance). WISE Abroad highly recommends additional traveler's insurance. Please read about the International Student Indentification Card (ISIC) at:

• Cultural Kit
  * WISE Abroad will provide you with useful information to prepare you for your teaching experience and discovery abroad.

• Certification
  * If you wish to receive a certification from the school in Taiwan, China or Costa Rica that certifies your professional teaching experience abroad, our partners will supply the necessary information.

• Good command of the English language (Chinese or Spanish knowledge is helpful but NOT required)

• At least a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a GPA of 2.25 or higher (College Juniors and Seniors may be considered)

• Enjoy leading groups and teaching children or adults

• Willing to embrace foreign cultures and live abroad

• Committed and responsible to full-term teaching assignments/placements

• Completed packet should include:
  *WISE Abroad TEFL Application
  *Signature Form
  *Four passport-size photos
  *One full-length photo (scanned foto is acceptable)
  *Resume
  *Most recent College transcripts
  *If any, copies of TEFL or ESL certificates that supplement your teaching skills
  *Copy of your passport (photo and information page only)
  *Letter of reference from an employer or faculty (emailed or posted separately is acceptable)
  *US $70 non-refundable application fee (checks or money orders are accepted)

WISE Abroad encourages you to apply at least three months before the semester begins. Classes normally begin late August or early September and end in May or early June. Placements are dependent on the availability of teaching assignments, school's needs, and your qualifications.
