Hispanic Studies Course
This program is for students who have already taken at least
5 semester or 7 quarters of college level Spanish.
Students are required to take an intensive Spanish course
for about one month (80 to 90 contact hours) before
the semester/quarter begins. Students who
undertake both Fall and Spring semesters/quarters or
Academic Year receive a Diploma in Hispanic Studies.
To study The Hispanic Studies Course, students must choose a minimum of four
subjects (12 credits to 13 or 18 to 20 quarter units) and a maximum of five (15
credits or 22 quarter units) for each period. Each subject on the Hispanic
Studies Course involves 40 to 45 teaching hours, earning a total of 3 credits or
4 to 5 quarter units. Please contact

Spanish Language and Culture
This program is for students who have taken
at least 3 semesters or 4 quarters of college level Spanish.
Students are required to take an intensive Spanish course
for about one month (80 contact hours in the Fall and 60
hours in the Winter) before the semester/quarter begins.
Students will be tested before the program, and students who
score very high may be eligible to take courses under the
Hispanic Studies Course. Students take a minimum of
four courses (12 to 13 credits or 18 to 20 quarter units)
and maximum of five (15 to 16 credits or 22 to 24 quarter
units). Each course is 40 contact hours. If your
university requires you to take 45 contact hours, please
notify WISE Abroad as you will be required to attend
extra sessions to complete the 45 hours course.

Intensive Spanish Language and Culture
This program is intended for students who are at the basic, intermediate or
advanced Spanish language levels. Students take 3 language modules that focus on reading,
writing, speaking and listening for about three months, with each course lasting
about one month.. Students may earn up to 15 to 18 credits or 22 to 24
quarter units each semester/quarter), and improve their proficiency level
depending on the students' success after each course or each month.
